When they're all together the subtle differences become more apparent. I'm on the waiting list for the OWC, but that could be a long, long ways away.
Like others, I love the dial of the Steinhart with the large indices, but also the large double dome sapphire of the Armida, and the original 40mm size of the original Rolex and OWC. I wish I could have them all in one watch: 40mm, large double domed sapphire, Steinhart-like over-sized indices, no date. If I ever get the OWC I'll see if I can have a dome installed.
I've owned a 42mm sub and it just didn't seem right. Right now I'm wearing a 43mm, 53 lug-to-lug dive watch and have a 42mm on the way, so I don't mind larger watches. But for subs there's something about 40mm that just seems more appropriate.
Speaking of subs, I'm eagerly awaiting the Raven 40mm, which should have a prototype out soon. Not a milsub, but still...
I have the Armida A2 500M ETA PVD at 43mm and a Mk II LRRP Milsub HRV at 42mm.They are two very different watches that both pay homage to the 40mm Rolex 5517.
The Steinhart OVM looks terrific but the oafish Orange logo kills that dial for me.

I recommend adding the Hager Commando to this thread, a solid contender.
Ω Omega Speedmaster 3570.50.00 * Citizen Navihawk (for flying) * Citizen Diver BN0000-04h (for diving)
I added the Hager to the pic. Thanks.
In a field of watches trying really hard to look like the Rolex, with the little details on the dial... Yes.
The Armida and the Orange are the only ones in the group not trying to have the "Circle T" on the dial. The Armida has the "hidden" date, and is larger.
No one is going to mistake the Armida for a Rolex, and that model Rolex is not made anymore...![]()

"...It's a trap!"
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.
I like the Armida A2, just a bit more than the Steinhart OVM. A bit of a departure from the Rolex with the different bezel, smaller indices, and date. The OVM has the nice warm lume color, and no date (which I prefer) and is a bit more of a "dress diver" which would make it a tad more versatile for me. So, a great looking watch, but it just looks a bit too much like the Rolex, which is the deal killer IMO. The Armida is No. 2 on my short list at the moment.
If we could get everyone in the world to close their eyes and imagine world peace for an hour, think about how serene it would be until the looting started. -Unknown
Just ordered the OVM today, so waiting expectantly. A2 is a solid contender as well
this one!
