Re: A Question For Ex-Ocean7 Owners

IMHO I don't see more O-7's for sale than any other brand. I bought 3 and own 1. I bought the LM-7 when it first came out, liked it quite a bit but flipped it to fund an impulse buy of some sort. I bought the new version cold carbon LM-1, but it turned out to be a bit too big on my 7.25 wrist due to the long lugs, so I sold it. I went back to the LM-7 - it's so distinctive, (I can't afford an Omega PloProf), it fits nicely because the lugs are hidden under the case, it's incredibly durable and legible, and it's a LUME MONSTER!

Michael: What is the most inspiring thing I’ve ever said to you?
Dwight: Don’t be an idiot - changed my life. Whenever I’m about to do something, I think, Would an idiot do that? and if they would, I do not do that thing.

I was gifted an ocean7 LM-4 and had a minor issue with the case. Since I did not purchase it and did not register it, even though you can only buy them from the website, Mitch did nothing to rectify or even work with me on the cost of the resolution. I was quoted the standard cost of repair and after numerous e-mails, I figured I would give him a call. Mitch answered and promptly told me that he didn't have time for this, I had to go through e-mail which was getting me nowhere. I sent the watch back to the person who bought it and gifted it to me. i loved the watch but will NEVER deal with a company with someone like Mitch as the spokesman and customer service contact. He is the reason I am an ex-ocean7 owner!!!

The warranty on O7's are not transferrable, so if you are not the original owner, there is no warranty, and cost of repairs will be on the customer. I do think though that even if they will not fix it for free, they should be conscientious and polite on the phone. But when you combine a frustrated customer with a busy watch company, there is bound to be someone who disagrees.

Is that the same watch you have listed on the sales and trade forum? With no mention of a case issue?

The minor issue on the case was a simple scratch on the underside. When I read my return e-mails from ocean7, I had to push the issue. I treat people the way I am treated. if you have a problem with that boboo1421, shame on you!

How is Mitch to know who put the scratch there? A small company with a small profit margin can only do so much. As I said I would buy another and I have an Orange dial LM7 should be here tomorrow, I know there is no warrantee as there is rarely any warrantee when you buy used, I don't care but Mitch should take the time to explain it to you, he won't and I know that up front. When I had an issue with a new Omega no one held my hand but they did fix it {accumulator on a chrono} after 4 months.

So the issue was minor enough that you didn't mention it in two ads you posted to sell and trade the watch but important enougth that you complained to Mitch about it and posted here. The customer is not always right as is evidenced by your initial posts in this thread.

Look, i'm not looking to take a warm shower with the man. However, when I e-mail a simple question about YOUR product, not sold by anyone other than YOU, I would expect a little customer service not extended by Mitch. Apparently some people on this site don't mind getting the so-called shaft when putting out hard earned money. When you forget that without the customer, you have no business. Ocean7 watches are awesome watches both in quality and in looks, but there are numerous other watch companies who would value a loyal customer. To all that care, the watch was returned to the gifter.
