    reasonably small diver - <$200?

Hi, first post… looking for a cheap diver as a primary watch. I'm a marine bio/chemistry undergrad, so I work in the lab and out in the water a lot. like to have something resilient and my timex easy reader doesn't cut it sometimes :D

Issue is, I have a 6" wrist. Really dig the orient mako, but afraid it'll be too big. Got directed to the seiko lady's skx007, but can't seem to find one anywhere. If anyone can direct me towards a 200m, <40mm diver, that would be much appreciated!

I recommend the Seiko BFK with rubber strap. It's mall enough for your wrist with ~38mm case diameter without the crown. Excellent build, its Kinetic mov't is great if you dont mind mechanical or not.

Citizen Eco Drive bn0000-04h, google it, would be perfect for that size wrist

The Seiko you're probably after is the SKX013 (38mm without crown). Amazon have it here in the UK:

Either that, or the Citizen Eco Drive divers are generally well thought of as recommended above.

First of all, that's a pretty cool field.

Second, the SKX013 is probably your best bet. Long Island Watches has it for $199 on rubber:

Seiko Black 21-Jewel Automatic Dive Watch with Rubber Strap #SKX013K1

They're sold out of the bracelet models.

If you don't mind it looking a little big, the SKX007 isn't too big, and divers are supposed to be big. It won't look bad. The SKX007's offset crown and short lugs make it wear small for its size.

A man's watch is a very cherished thing. You steal that, you might as well be stealing his soul.

Thanks! I think my brother owns the SKX007, and I'll be seeing him in about a month… I think I'll try that and decide for myself what size I can wear. I don't really want to buy a watch right away anyway (I don't have a permanent address until a month from now), so I'll probably be purchasing stuff then. Thanks!

No one has mentioned it yet, but the Citizen NY series offer a lot of bang for your buck. The stats say 43mm but trust me, it wears smaller than a Seiko SKX007.

(web seller pic, but it's available from several places. Search the model number.)

I also have 6" wrists and struggle w/ your problem. The Orient Mako/Ray actually is OK and not that bad (my wrists are more flat than rounded, so may fit differently on you). Their lug-to-lug (which is the more important measure) is around 47, so works with me.

I have the SNZF29k1 (about the same size as the SKX013) and that definitely fits better than the Mako/Ray. Picture below so you have an idea what that size would look on 6" wrist.

Also posted Orient Ray to give you an idea the size.
