    Rolex vs Omega

    Okay here is the question

which diver watch is the better watch

it is between the Rolex Submariner 14060

and the Omega Seamaster Professional with the Ceramic bezel

i see that the new subc is compared to the omega smpc, even the tudor bb is compared.

but factoring in price it looks like the 14060 is most close in price to the smpc.

soooooooo which one is the better buy? the sub goes for at best 4500 on the grey market
while the smpc goes for around 2000 on the for sale sub on here.

which one is it gonna be??

I think you can go either way really. It can be argued both ways regarding the merits of either watch. Same with pricing. When bought correctly they will both hold value, although the sub will edge out the sea master in this category in the long run.
    Calm down.....It's just a watch....

Agreed with above commentor. The sub will definitely be the better investment in the long run.

Neither one is what you'd call inexpensive so it really comes down to which one appeals to you the most.

I am not a diver, so I cannot say for certain. But another WUS member (RDenney?) who is a heavy diver provided a rather compelling narrative that the Sub was the best diver he'd ever owned, in large part because it is so compact and unobtrusive. I couldn't find fault with his examples; hopefully he'll chime in here.

Both very nice watches. The Sub is my 'grail', so I'm not going to vote. And to be honest I don't think you should say 'even' the Tudor is compared. I think the BB deserves to be compared to these watches.

By the way what do you mean the sub goes for 4500 on the grey market?

Both are very nice watches and the replies you'll get here will be entirely subjective. It all comes down to what you like more and what your individual definition of a good value is. The Sub will hold it's value better, but if you just plan on wearing it I guess it doesn't really matter.

One vote for the Omega Seamaster. I grew up in an Omega family, and for me it was a wonderful and additional reason to go against the no-date-sub grain.

Both are great watches and will be wonderful, lifelong (if you want) purchases.

I own both the Omega SMP and The Submariner. I love both. They are the two watches I will never sell ever. But if I was forced to let one go it would be the SMP.
Hate-on troll. You didn't earn my money. Mind your own business you incredibly smug, supercilious, inverted snob.
