    Sinn U1000 Chrono

As I am looking for new watches to start building my collection again, I started to look at the Sinn U1000 chrono, it really looks like a beautiful watch. It appears to have a price around $5000 or so.

Can anyone provide some feedback on this watch, pros and cons, and is it worth, in your view, the asking price new? I am wondering if, generally, this watch will hold it's value over time like my prior owned EZM1 did.

Thank you for your feedback and opinions.

Very substantial watch that feels as if it could take anything you could throw at it (or throw it at).

Pros: more water resistant then any man will use, excellent bezel that will not move from the position you set, no screw down pushers (they are annoying), not too tall but really great wrist presence, top end valjoux movement, great timekeeping, bracelet and rubber with deployment options.

Cons: Sinn's clasp on bracelet not real top end stuff, pushers really have a VERY firm feel to them and you really have to push hard, (for me) no running seconds hand unless you leave the chrono running, (again for me) anxiety over PVD coating although if you are going to buy any PVD coated watch this or the Casio MRG are the way to go as they have been pretty much indestructible in my opinion, very expensive for being a Sinn (which is why I bought lightly used).

All valid points and very concise. However, all three of my U1000s have had a running seconds hand. Do you mean that it is not very legible?

You not only buy a watch, but the company behind it.

That would be the running seconds hand.

That's what I thought, but the other member indicated that his didn't have that feature.

I can only assume he is alluding to the fact that the running seconds subdial is difficult to read because it is small and the numbers are blacked out.

It's a great watch with a lot of heft and a permanent second hand )
the nice thing is, you can use the pushers under water, unlike most other chronos. I would recommend to buy it pre loved. And BTW, the coating can take more of a beating then most other PVD watches, thanks to Sinn's superior technologies
