I keep coming back to that Helson Skindiver.... and now I've discovered the Timefactors PRS-50.

I was looking to get a chunky diver in a similar vein to the CDII i used to have, but for some reason that skindiver just won't leave me alone. It's not at all what I set out on. Decision still isn't made, but if it were....

Orange lume date, or C3 no date, or C3 no numbers- date, or PRS-50? I'm leaning toward C3 numbers-no date

They are alive, because they are the physical shape of the action of a living power—of the mind that had been able to grasp the whole of this complexity, to set its purpose, to give it form… they are alive, but their soul operates them by remote control. Their soul is in every man who has a capacity equal to this achievement. Should the soul vanish from the earth, the motors would stop because that is the force which keeps them going - not the oil ...- not the steel cylinders that would have become spots of rust on the walls of the caves of shivering savages- the power of a living mind, the power of thought and choice and purpose.

Then again, this still looks pretty cool, but I think they're sold out and there's no bracelet.

Helson c3, numbers, no-date FTW! It is the perfect size & well proportioned. And it is a classically styled dive watch. Add a leather nato and a shark mesh bracelet & you're all set.

The PRS-50 is no-doubt excellent, but suffers from poor proportions (42mm, 22mm lugs, & really thick lugs) + the dial/bezel art is way too busy for an everyday watch, IMO.

However, if you are sold on the shape & size of the Precista, check out international watchman for alternate dial/bezel combos.

Get the Skindiver. Why the Helson not?

Pretty sure they make a bracelet for the non-chrono Apollon.

SKINDIVER - With the numbers to "busy it up". That's my vote!

I'm actaully leaning toward the size of the skindiver, mainly because I have a plethora of 20mm straps and no 20mm watches anymore . Plus, I think that size more suits the watch. It's not the hunk of steel on a bracelet that I initially set out looking for, but damn if it's not a stunner. The 007 on a super-oyster I just got is satisfying the big-ass hunk of steel at the moment, and most of the watches I've been looking at are either over the top large, or similar in style to the 007. I'm back on getting the Skindiver and a few new dials and handsets for my 007 to switch it up a bit.

They do, but it's another few hundred dollars which pushes it out of my price range. Plus I don;t know how I feel about importing the watch. I have an e-mail in to Gnomon to see when they expect more in stock; we'll see what they say and maybe that'll make the decision for me. Like I said, I'm terribly impatient. I'm surprised I've been able to sit on the funds for this long; it's been a whole week!
