So. It turns out I'm a flipper.... What's next?!

First I got a Boschett CDII, that was the one, I'd keep it forever. Then I realized it was too big for me to wear regularly, so I consolidated a lot of watches and bought a Damasko DA47. That was DEFINITELY the one, I'd wanted a Damasko for years. I'll certainly be keeping this one forever. Wait, I can't get a bracelet for it. Lets trade it for a Sinn EZM3. That's a great watch, really solid and fantastic looking on a bracelet. Turns it it's a little small for me and I was afraid to wear it because I didn't want to mess it up. SOLD! All if this happened within the course of a year. Maybe one day I'll find the one.

So I've accepted that I'm a flipper. ow the question is, what's next. I'm thinking a MECHANICAL diver in the $400-$800 range ($1000 if I really dig it) with a lumed bezel (sapphire lumed would be super cool). I'd also consider an internal bezel/ compressor (if the bezel markings are lumed). I'd REALLY prefer something with a bracelet. I'd be happy to go to $1200 for a chrono with a bracelet and lumed bezel if I could find one I liked. The Helson Blackbeard chrono doesn't do it for me with the skull and bones all over it. Used is more than acceptable, though I'm terribly impatient.

    Options at this point are:

Zixen Nitrox (I don't really like the hands on this one, but I dig the style otherwise)

Helson Sharkdiver 42mm (I'm not sure How I feel about the square-ish look when it's on the bracelet)

Helson Skindiver (WOW... gorgeous, but no bracelet, also, I'd be worried about the acrylic crystal/bezel)

Armida (A2 or A3 Don't know anything about this brand, but they've got some pretty good looking watches. I think the A2 might be a bit too plane-jane for me thuogh. )

Anything else I should add to the list? I really don't like square/cushion cases or hooded lugs. I'm thinking a Miyota would be fine, but I'm not opposed to dropping the extra coin for an ETA. I was more than satisfied with my CDII's accuracy. If my recent flipping has taught me anything, it's that Nice watches are nice, but I'm afraid to wear them. I'll stick to decent watches for now.

    And remember

This Thread is USELESS without pictures!

I'd go with the Zixen you listed. It seems to hit all your criteria and it's been on my list for a long time.

Ha! I am looking at almost the exact same watches! I can't seem to get behind any one though the Zixen GMT is leading my list right now. I'm just stuck too because none are really pushing all my buttons....

Here's the GMT (borrowed from a fellow forum member):

I have an e-mail in to Zixen to ask about getting that handset on the nitrox. If they can do that, I may just pull the trigger.

Bud DAMN I can't stop looking at that Skindiver.

I'm that way on the Sharkdiver and the Boschett PVD. I want super chunk and not so expensive that I'm afraid to wear it in the pool

That Armida A3 is pretty big, how about the A1? It's big and chunky but the L2L is short enough to fit most anyone.

The one watch I'm tempted by the most right now is the Benarus Sea Snake, even though its stainless and not titanium

If you're looking at Helson, I would recommend looking at Zenton. Same case but more customizable, 10 year warranty, and of course more expensive. They also have some nice chrono divers. (Not my pic)

Halios also has nice watches as well in the laguna and puck.

But I'd get a used Sinn U1 or Stowa Seatime if I was in your shoes. (not my pic)
