The chunks are crushed and dissolved in water. From my experience if the water is warmed the effect will be stronger, quicker, and produce a darker patina.
The ratio of water to LoS makes a difference too.
A very warm and thick solution turned a bronze buckle nearly black.
The piece can be submerged or applied with a brush or cotton-swab.
The original finish of the piece makes a difference, too. The 1500b appears to have a different finish than the SDb so the reulst will likely vary. I'd like to see someone use this on a bead-blasted Moray B.
There's a bunch of vids and info, just google "liver of sulfur" and "liver of sulphur"

The Kazimon looks great! Seeing it may have been the push I needed to order a bronze watch, perhaps the SD.

Big congratulations on the Series II Bronze Shark Diver from Peter at Helson Frank!!!

Really like the looks of the Series II (the lack of bezel insert really changes up the whole look versus the Series 1 which was offered with bezel insert only and made with a different bronze formulation (UNI 5275 versus the series II CuSn8)). Looks incredible!

I definitely favor a dark patina to the shiny gold look of fresh bronze. I need to take some updated pics of my Shark Diver Series I, as it is now MUCH darker than it looks in my attached pic below...also including a pic of the Series I Bronze Moray (both great pieces IMO).

I really like Scott's result above on his Bronze Kazimon 1500 and the liver of sulfur application!!!! ...I have only been brave enough to do the more gradual egg process on my Bronze pieces.

Congrats Bobabreath. Looks great, blingy, but will get better with age no doubt.

@ timesofplenty, great application job. Love the look you created. I want a bronze beauty now.

    cheers.

Go natural and let it darken on it's own. There is no rush, don't fake it. Beautiful watch, the solid bronze bezel looks much better than the black. Congratulations.

My Zenton had the egg treatment by the prior owner, but I thought it was still pretty new-looking when I got it.

I wore it for a week in the sun/surf on a diving vacation in St. Kitts, and it darkened a bit more there:

Big fan of the bronze-and I personally love the bronze bezel. I like how this new Helson is an all-bronze bezel, too!

    Enjoy it!

agree and wonder if any dressier watches will follow suit. Maybe bronze can be the new Rose Gold. I think the unique finish of a bronze dress watch coupled with an appropriate dial and marker set could be very interesting. I'm thinking a Fifity Fathoms-esque model could also be outstanding. Wonder if Peter would consider doing the Skindiver or Blackbeard in bronze...
