Halios Laguna gets my vote (and my money). In fact with a $1,000 budget, I got the black Laguna, blue Ray, and the orange Monster will conclude the drawing of the three .

I'll add one - the Stowa Seatime Prodiver. A real looker and by most accounts extremely well finished for a watch at this price point.

I'm biased as I have one on order!

    1. Victorinox Dive Master 500 (auto or quartz; both can be found for under U$1000 - if you're lucky, you can get both together for less than that)

    2. Marathon SAR

    3. Helson Shark/Seiko OM/BM

Lucien Piccard men's automatic day-date (FHF 909 movement)

Re: Top 3 Dive watches <$1000

Very glad I started this thread, great information so far. the Helson 42mm Sharkdiver is sticking out to me right now, also I really like the design of some of the Prometheus models (Manta Ray Blue Special Edition suggested by Jordiher is very nice). I like the 42mm diameter and 13-14mm thickness range. Keep the ideas coming! I'm still reseraching all the ones posted so far and really like what I see.
    Current watches:
    Marathon GSAR, G-Shock GW2310-1, Luminox 0102
