TU what??? That's what you willhear, come selling time.
Comeon man ... is this a joke? I would put in an extra $1000 and go
for the sub ---- or for $4K I would go for 14060m I do not see why
a company like ROLEX would create a watch like that? Except to cater
to those that wanna save a litte $$ and somehow believe or pretend that
    they own a Rolex.

Tudor does nothing for me...Rolex " poor country cousin" for premium prices??? I don't really get this. If you want brand name, then go brand name. For that money you get an Omega or even a pre-loved Rolex. Designwise it's ok, but not my cup of tea.

The thing is, one from 1971 is still worth a lot more than a vintage SM300.

The new ones are expensive but the right ones hold there value. Due to the new releases the values of the old subs have jumped.

Have you seen the money in an old Tudor Sub recently, a good Blue Sub will cost more than a Black Bay.

Nope. Not a chance. I'd get a Seamaster Ceramic for that kind of dough. I generally don't get the lofty pricing of these new Tudors. Good looking watches, but I'm not seeing the value.

The recent surge in Tudor value is not something I understand, I don't know what original "Omega" Sm300's are going for today but they have been bring big bucks for many years, I don't collect so I don't get why people are laying down so much for these {I understand the price of the Omega a lot more than the price of the Tudor} 12 or 14 years ago I sold my Sm 300 for something like $900, sold a Tudor sub {early 70's model} for about $400 and felt lucky to get that so I just don't get why people are willing to pay so much for them, I would rather have a Sub for the money they are paying for these old Tudor's {sold my 5513 sub around the same time as the others for $650} so I wish I had bought a basket full of these old divers before the internet started up.

I like the look of the Pelagos. Right now, $4,000 is a bit too rich for me, but I am sure they will have plenty of buyers.

Nope! I really like the design of the watch, but for that kinda coin as others have said, I'd pick up a SMP to complement my PO. If it were $2-2500 I'd really consider it.

Re: Tudor Pelagos MSRP for $4000.00 will you buy it?

I thought I should correct my previous post.

The cost of a vintage Snow Flake Tudor seems to be on par with a vintage SM300.

Regarding the increase in cost of the old SF Subs it just appears to be the usual supply and demand, a lot of people want a good original and there is a lot of fakes/frankens out there as is the case with a vintage SM300.

I'm in agreement, I wish I had bought a truck load of these before the advent of the internet, SM300, Tudor Sub, 5513.

    No crystal ball Im afraid.

And 12k for a DSSD with no discount isn't crazy? I think Tudor offers a lot when you compare it to the other major watch brands. As a new purchase that is.
