Stunning. This is becoming all the more tempting to consider -- and it's getting tougher to decide with Ocean7 coming out with their LM-7 pro model.
Does anyone have pics of it on a smaller wrist size - such as 6.5"?
I take it the crown on the Helson is pretty much the same, in function as the original, am i right? how does it work?.....spin the knurled crown until square 2ndary head of crown clears case, then turn square head to wind? Someone mentioned the crown was 'hard to wind', can anyone expand on this? Also, when you depress bezel lock, does the bezel freewheel or are there still ratchet clicks?
Thx.
Here is the picture on my 6.5 small wrist

The SM600 {Omega and Helson} have a unique crown sealing system, the "T" shaped crown is drawn into the case seal by the knurled nut you see at its base, it is an ingenious design in that it draws the seal and sealing surface together without any shearing action as you find in the more common "screw down crown" that most watches have, although the screw down works fine especially with modern sealing materials. Panerai uses a straight push sealing system but can face shear if someone fails to release the lock before turning the crown, the "T" prevents this on the Omega design, a nice bit of 1970 technology. The square makes manual winding a bit weird but the watch keeps great time {mine does -2} so a bit of a non-factor for me {I no longer hand wind 2824 movements after learning of a bit of a failure rate to the winding system in this type of auto}.
The bezel has detents every minute but doesn't ratchet as you can turn it either way with the button pushed {a very handy feature in my opinion} I am very pleased with mine.
Great watch...great pictures....
Congrats to everyone....
It is so much similar to the original....I can keep dreaming of it.....probably one day...
I hope to receive one of these SM600s in the next few days, and will do a complete review with photos on my blog at WatchWerx.biz. Lex's positive endorsement carries a lot of weight with me, and I can't wait to see it first hand.
