I think you guys are seeing an optical illusion. What appears to be a two piece strap is the Strap Keeper.

If you look closely at the lug area (on both sides) you can see the stitching going along the width of the strap. At least that's what I see.
Have a good day!

the strap in the OP is most definitely NOT a 2 piece. the watch head is pushed as far up the strap as possible and the springbar is right up against the stitching for the keepers. trust me, i'm now wearing a 22mm 5 ring ZULU right now

All the above . . .and a 5 ring two piece doesn't really make sense . . If the band is 2 pieces then what are the extra 2 rings attached to . .

for further clarification- NATO straps are derived from the UK Ministry of Defence G10 spec for straps. it's not used any other NATO country's armed forces

At my 1st look I was pretty sure it was a one piece, but took a 2nd look and it did look like it had two pieces. I'm sure Erik and Army are correct, has to be a 1 piece.
Have a good day!

Sorry bro but no,I see no stitching at the 6 O'clock position except on the strap keeper just below the hardware.Plus look at the way the strap curves up from under the 6 o'clock lug, exactly the way a Nato does. What appears to be stitching is simply the cross stitch of the nylon used. It's a 5 Ring Nato .
