    What does BUMP mean?

    Hey Guys,

I'm trying to understand the WUS terminology. I see this a lot on threads/post. -also- how to i post my pics without them coming out as thumbnails? I have a Apple iMac computer if this makes a difference. Thanks Guys

It's not a WUS term but a general forum term used to indicate that by posting another post and saying Bump it's bringing your thread of something you have for sale back to the top of that particular forum.

    bump

is done when someone wants a particular thread to be bumped back up to the top of the forum.. many instances warrant this... one example is when someone is trying to sell a watch and their post doesn't get much attention,, and as time passes that post goes lower into the forum.

So, if I have a watch for sale as an example, all I have to do is type bump and my ad goes instantly to the top? Same as a Thread. Who bumps it up? The moderator?

Whoever wants the thread moved to the top of the forum.

In a sales forum, usually the seller, in a discussion board, anybody who wants the thread read.

    Re: What does BUMP mean?

i always thought it meant Bring Up My Post. as in bring up my post to the top of the thread list. relevant not only to sales forums, but any kind of inquiry in general where a response is required.

bump etiquette is generally no more than once every 12 hours on most forums.

You can type and say anything you like in the post. Bump is just one thing you can say. It's the action of a new post by the seller that automatically puts their thread to the top.
