I've yet to find an occasion or attire where this one's not right at home and more than stylish ;)

Nothing beats the over long thinly spaced lugs attached to a massive watch head that you get with the Sumo. That's a one off and is never likely to be repeated!

A classic, timeless, balanced design. Trends come and go this one still looks right 40 years or so since it's intro:

There really is no excuse for Omega not producing at least a limited edition 50th anniversary version of the SM300 in 2008 (such as was done by BP for the FF in 2003). I guess with the SMP and the PO in the line, they thought it would cannibalize too much in sales from those lines. But I still hold out hope that they will have a re-creation of the SM300, as they did with the PloProf.

I would love to have another, to replace the one my father gave me when I was first certified in 1967 but was lost overboard boating a marlin about 10 years later. I've looked admiringly at the WatchCo versions, but can't seem to bring myself to buy one. As much as I fondly remember my old SM300, it was 50s technology and had its share of faults. But a modern version could address all of those issues, and satisfy the legions of fans - like me - who have been clamoring for this watch to be reissued for years now.
