Question HELP: Anyone know the Austrian manufacturer of current OEM straps???

    Hi guys,

    As the title says,
Does anyone know the name of the manfacturer of the OEM Alligator and Calf leather Pam straps?
I have read that Mario Paci made Pam straps between 1938-1997, but who is the current manufacturer?

    Thanks in advance,
    roger

Yep, nothing official has ever been released by OP as far as I'm aware, but I've heard Hirsch as well.

thank you chefcook & handwound for your replies.

I initially thought Hirsch as well due to them being the only strap manufacturer I could find out of Austria.
But once I had a closer look at them and their range, I started to doubt they were Panerai strap supplier.

*One reason for my doubts was that their site mentions they have started producing out of India and Asia.

*Second was that their range appears a lot more limited than OEM OP. a lot of risti do not realise but OP have an entire catalogue dedicated to all their OEM straps available to owners. I think often we think slight variations are variations in animal skin, but OP has so many shade variations each with their own sk number (a lot more than Hirsch appears to have).

*Third is the keepers on the Hirsch look totally different i.e, smaller and of a lesser quality.

Re: HELP: Anyone know the Austrian manufacturer of current OEM straps???

Hirsch's business is split into two clear sectors, the first being their own branded straps, the full range of which is on their website, the second sector is making straps for watch manufacturers, although not made public knowledge, it accounts for 50% of the business and their own straps the other 50%.

The fact that Hirsch's catalogue range does not include identical straps to the OEM straps they make I thought was obvious, price point being factor one, I assume the watch manufacturers make a tidy profit from their accessories range.
