Today was a bittersweet day - full of ups and downs!
First - went out for some groceries - no umbrella - TA-DAH! Monsoon like rain!!!! Soaked to the core.
Next - call across the river into PuDong and the fine folks at IFC... my brand new (one month and a bit old) 114 is running dreadfully fast! "Bring it in - we will have it examined." Drove over and talked to Alex for a bit. The next thing I knew - they were taking it off my wrist and putting it in a tray to be examined by the service department.(Fortunately I had a Rolex Sea-Dweller jammed into my pocket so I wouldn't be without a watch for the afternoon!)
While there my wife suggests that I pick out my anniversary present!!!!!Anything I want!
After an hour or so - I make my selection. The Misses takes out her card and pays!
Sadly - due to a cosmic twist of fate - I'm told not to keep the watch in the box, but rather in a discrete looking pouch in my wife's purse!?!?!?! (Apparently - there have been problems in the IFC area where by people are having their Panerai Boutique Shanghai bags stollen! Be on guard.)
As a result of all this - and due in part to the fact that my wedding anniversary isn't until the first week in September - what you are about to witness may be the very-first RE-boxing of a watch!!!! I have to wait until the day before I can open/wear it!
(It killed me to have to do this!)
