I will have approximately 2500-3000 dollars next year at some point for watch purchases. I have been thinking about what I want for quite some time and I have narrowed it down to a few choices. I would say that the one that I am the most in love with is the Nomos Tangomat. Classic Bauhaus styling, in house movement, Glashutte watchmaking heritage. It has everything and it's beautiful!
I think I can pick this one up for somewhere in the 2200-2600 dollar range, which basically limits me to this one alone. I have also had my eye on several other watches, all of which are of great quality though probably a step below the Nomos. With that said they are also much different types of watches. Both the Sinn 856 and Damasko DA36 have gotten my attention in a big way. The technology offered from these brands puts them high up in my pecking order and it seems to me that Damasko in particular may be headed for big things. Sinn offers great tradition. Both sport a top grade ETA movement I believe.
The last one that I have been looking at for almost as long as the Nomos is the Junghans Force Solar, which I think is great because of the marriage of solar technology to atomic timekeeping.
The last three watches fall anywhere in the 1100-1700 range so you can see where I'm going with this. Do I go for the one that I have given the most thought towards for about a half a year, or do I split my resources and get 2 pieces that I would really enjoy for totally different reasons? I have no doubt that someday, I may own all of these, but I was interested in WIS opinions on if you were in this position, what would be your move? Thanks for the input everyone.
