Looking to buy a Kronen & Söhne skeleton watch

Hi everyone, first post in the forum

I have been thinking of buying a skeleton watch for some time, preferably an automatic mechanism. I don't want to spend a lot of money on the watch so I started to look in eBay for some of the cheapest "skeleton automatic watches" and came across this watch from Kronen & Söhne:

I have a real difficulty deciding between the two designs, the one with the white dial looks more vintage but I'm not "in love" with that brown strap, the other other one looks cool and black can always look good with everything.

What do you say folks? which design would you chose?

chinese watch company fooling you with a german name to make it seem like "quality timepiece" much like Stürling Original.

If I were in the market for a inexpensive skeleton I'd go E-mail Roland Kemmner about what he has available for skeleton (he makes "custom watches"). He has quality grade Sea-gull skeleton mouvements. I would enquire with him for a skeleton watch.

Here's an example of what he's made : Kemmner Acquisition

You should e-mail him about prices and availabilty and faisability of a skeleton watch.

    My 0.02$ !

    Have a good one !

I never thought this watch is a high-end one, it's no Sturling for sure. How do you know for fact this is a Chinese company? On their website they say it was established in Germany..

I don't look for a high-end item, but for a good looking watch on a budget, if anyone has suggestions for a similar watch under 100$ please post. Would be happy to know what you think of the watch in the first post as well.

    Welcome to watchuseek.

Those affordable watches you are showing are not German. Unfortunately,
they are about the opposite of German design, and do not look "vintage".
You may not get a positive response for them on the German forum.

I think Kemmner might make you a watch with a Seagull skeleton movement,
but even that won't be as cheap as a communist made watch. While this
forum does not look much at "high end", living in Germany is not "cheap".
I suggest you ask in the Affordable watches forum, where the members
have given more priority to "affordable".

    Thanks,
    rationaltime

Thanks for the welcome, I guess I will ask around at the other forum, hopefully will get an unbiased opinion despite the fact that the company is Chinese.

Don't get us wrong we have nothing against chinee made watches ! As long as they stay true and honest to what they actually stand for !

To me it's sickening to see a watch manufacturer make up a fake history to fool you into thinking they are manufaturing timepieces from germany, franche or switzerland when in fact they make poor quality chinese !

Chinese forum and affordable forum for cheaper chinese made watches who are of pretty good quality and don't shy away from the fact that they are actual chinese brands !

Re: Looking to buy a Kronen & Söhne skeleton watch

There's nothing German with it, they even do not have a german spoken web site. A bit strange for a German brand.

Anyone Have Any Experience with Kronen & Sohne?
    Kind regards
    Mike
