Cool Ordering a Blancier watch is a great ride [updated !] >>>

The ride is the way the people of Blancier keeps one posted about the producting/assembling of the watch ordered.

First one designs his (er her) own Blancier watch on www.blancier.com. Case, bezel, dial, hands, movement, strap, all can be chosen and combined to the Blancier you desire the most. Once you've decided on all parts you can print out the watch in a few "views" which is pretty cool, because you already get to see the "real" watch (no picture, sorry).

Payment instructions is next of course

Then after some time you will receive the first pictures of the "work in progress". Pretty cool stuff !! See the images below. Can't wait to receive the next e-mail(s)!

    Both thumbs up for Blancier

Cool Re: Ordering a Blancier watch is a great ride [updated !] >>>

the Affordable Watches version of this ...
    (for the non-skilled watchmaker ...)

buy two identical chinese watches ($50 each for something nice ...)
take one to bits, piece by piece, taking photos (with a cheap digicam)
    at every stage ...

post photos on internet (in the reverse order of course .. this is
"how my watch was assembled" after all) and wear the 2nd watch
as proof for your efforts :)

(wonderful website btw... I managed to tot up a 10k EU+ watch ..
i think it's the most it can go to ...)

    Hi Q,

I choose the third movement from the right. It's a 17 jewel mechanical movement, caliber BL0404R.

Very cool, they will do well allowing customers to custom build a watch online! I'd love to buy one but mine came out at about 2000 EU yikes! I went all black/white with roman numerals and an onion winder. I chose the in house movement. Very nice.

    all German?

Do they make their cases and other parts in Germany as well? I thought that they were Russian movts at first. The ones on the left look like Molijna handwind movts. Is that really a manufacture calibre? If so then this is a good thing. Their website is nice but short on detailed information.
