Thanks for posting the video showing the DA36.

Sometimes I see questions posted about how fast the date changes.
I don't know if it would be difficult to record, but it would be interesting
to see the day and date change if you wanted to give that a try.

    Thanks,
    rationaltime

Hey Norm, that would be interesting. I haven't intentionally watched the changeover yet. You have the DA37, right? Have you ever watched yours change over?

I have only set mine once so far and don't remember how it flipped.

The day and date displays flip quickly, like they are spring loaded.

    Thanks,

I can confirm that too, on the DA37 it's almost instantaneous, at least a very fast and audible click

I like that. The date just changes, but I think I see motion in the day
display. Of course, the day wheel jumps two spaces when it changes.
I wonder if that was captured in the video, and might show up if the
    play back were slowed down.

It might be instructional to record setting the day and date wheels.
That would show the German and English day names.

A caution for trying this at home. While the DA36 and DA37 instructions
do not warn about setting the day or date around the time it changes,
the chronograph instructions do. To avoid damage to a chronograph it
is good practice to advance the hour hand to near "6" prior to changing
the day or date. Some people also do that when setting three hand
movements to establish a good habit.

    Thanks,

    Thanks
Was 10 to midnight when reading the post and happened to have the camera ready. I don't think that my camera's fast enough to capture it in slow mo though. But maybe 30fps is enough, i'll check it out.

I avoid setting the day-date as much as i can because the dual language of the day and it switching at noon instead of midnight half the time. What i always end up doing is backing up the day/date a day early and adjusting the time forward past midnight to advance the day/date and make sure i'm correctly in the AM or PM. That much movement can't be good on a regular basis though.

Yeah, when my watches have stopped, I first get them going again, then advance the time until I know that I have cycled through the AM switch, set the proper time, and then set the date.
