Meritorious Threads (*NOT* Groovy Clothes) ...

Sorry. Couldn't resist the joke in the title.

This sticky is a place for links to past threads on our most excellent forum that are particularly noteworthy. I'll start with one. Let me know of others that should be considered. (I've locked the thread, so let me know via pm, e-mail, or just another post.) Thanks!

Re: Meritorious Threads (*NOT* Groovy Clothes) ...

The Omega 2400 Marine Chronometer Project thread collected serial numbers of (you guessed it) Omega 2400 Marine Chronometers. We were extremely successful, and with the information were able to determine basic information such as (i) how many of these remarkable watches were made (Omega's info is clearly not correct on this point, btw), (ii) when they transitioned from the original movement to the newer movement, (iii) the styles they came in (hint: only two as officially released, and they were close cousins), etc. An outstanding example of internet enabled research.

It's still open, so please feel free to contribute, especially if you have a pic of another OMC to contribute.
