    Omega Cal 1438 Question

    Hey Guys,
I know the 1438 is not high-accuracy, and I tried posting this over in the Omega forum, but nobody has gotten back to me yet. I figured one of you guys can probably answer this in about 5 seconds, given that many of you own 1442s.

Anyway, I just picked up a Omega Seamaster Polaris, two-tone, with the Omega (ETA) 1438 quartz movement. I noticed that position two of the crown advances or retards the time in one hour increments, presumably for travel across time-zones and DST changes. Is there a quickset date with this caliber? I guess I had just assumed (I know, I know) that there would be when I purchased. Not a deal-breaker, but an annoyance if this cal. lacks this feature.

    Sorry for the non-HEQ question.

In my experience movements which have the 'move the hour hand only' mode set the date by using the hour hand and twisting a lot... i.e. semi-quick set.

Yuck. Well, thanks Jim. Hope I don't break something setting the date.
