    options for an accurate watch

Hi, I am the happy owner of a Tissot Visodate, but I am looking for options to keep the strong points of the Visodate and address the weaknesses.

    Strong points are:-
Classy, clean design with silvered dial, (day/)date function - I need at least date
and 40 mm diameter which is a nice size for my wrist

    Weak points
Main one is timekeeping - gains ca 2 minutes a week. I want to reset my watch much less frequently
    No lume
    Minute hand is short
    Very little water resistance

Options I am considering include Nomos Tangomat Datum ( looks great, but no lume, limited water resistance and I don't know if the accuracy of timekeeping is significantly better), I like the look of the Citizen Chronomaster (great timekeeping, but dial is not silvered and the lume hand model has been discontinued).

I want the watch to be versatile - dress up or down - and a quality watch.

Do any of the knowledgable folks here have an alternative suggestion?

    Thanks in advance, Paul

Any quartz movement will probably give you quite an increase in accuracy. With that, you selection is immense.

If you want high accuracy, the selection is much less. I know of no Danish minimalist high accuracy movement watches. If you want new, the selection is even less. Others will have to help on new.

Re: options for an accurate watch

There are still several models of Chronomaster with luminous hands and dial markers. The CTQ57-0953, 0955 with bracelets, 0934 with a leather strap are all still in production. The 0954 (blue dial) is now out of production but I think it can still be found from one or more of the Japanese retailers that sell outside Japan. I bought one quite recently from Seiya though I don't know if he can still get them.
I don't know of any other models that really compete on all fronts with these Chronomasters. They have the additional advantages of a perpetual calendar, independently adjustable hour hand and, in the 095X series, titanium cases and bracelets. The 0955 has a black dial, the 0953 and 0934 have pale dials...I don't know whether you would call them "silvered" or not. Pictures can be found on Higuchi's web-site but there are probably other sources, too.
If you'd like further information, feel free to send a pm.
