    Recommendation for High Accuracy Quartz

I would like a recommendation for a watch. Most of the quartz I have are 15s/month, but I recently purchased an atomic g-shock and love that the time is almost always perfect, I would just like something that doesn't need a signal to be accurate. Here is what I am looking for: perpetual calendar with day/date, as accurate as possible with the perpetual day/date, something that I can wear with business attire, and between 35mm-39mm, if it has everything I want I would be willing to spend 3k. So far I like the citizen ctq57-0953, and I would buy it now it if it had day/date. I looked at the Grand Seiko quartz models which I liked, but don't like that I have to adjust the day/date.

    Beforehand, thanks for the help.

8F series of Seiko movements are perpetual calendar and about 20SPY (when worn consistantly). And you would only have to spend ~$300-400.

Thank you for the info, I looked at that series and I am very interested in the models that start with SBQL, but is it still made by Seiko or has it been discontinued? I could not find them on the Seiko Japan website.

Re: Recommendation for High Accuracy Quartz

I chose the Grand Seiko quartz, but I actually like adjusting the time/date on my watch; gives me a reason to play with it twice a year and every other month instead of just wearing it and looking at it. I think I read somewhere that the Citizen chronomaster has a perpetual calendar, but I'm not 100%...

The Chronomaster has everything you're looking for except the day, AND it has a ten year warranty.
I agree that the day would be nice but, personally, I'd rather put up with the lack of a day than the shortcomings involved with other models. There is also the Eco-drive The Citizen, which has all the Chronomaster's capabilities, ten year warranty, plus not needing periodic battery changes. Unfortunately, it has the reserve gauge, which I don't care for.

A little off-topic, but I still cannot understand why the day feature is lacking in The Citizen, I think it is very important in an every-day watch. As I cannot understand why quartz GSs do not have at least time-zone adjustment function, I believe it should be mandatory for a HAQ, more important than the PC, IMO.

The Chronomaster is the model I am leaning towards I just wish it had the day. The Grand Seiko is real nice especially the SBGT039, but I liked the Chronomaster better since the GS has no no lume, perpetual, or titanium. Any suggestions on where I can find the best prices for the Chronomaster? Or if maybe Citizen will release one with a day?

I don't care for the reserve gauge either. I don't travel outside my time zone much but if it had PC and time zone adjustments that would be awesome.

Yes, that is also killing me - I am also a huge day/date fan

However if you want with the day of the week the same "quick change" as with the date and also the reverse-change on special timezone-changes you need one extra stepper or a different use of the already-existing 3 - see for instance this video:

    CITIZEN ATTESA ATD53-2943 & 3002 3 (1

I am very tempted by the looks of some day/date PC models like:

    EBG74-2921 ƒVƒ`ƒYƒ“ ƒGƒNƒV[ƒh ƒGƒRƒhƒ‰ƒCƒu“d”gŽžŒv ƒ^ƒiƒJŽžŒv“X

but since that only has radio accuracy I am for the moment settling for my 8F33 calibers - which however do not have the 1-hour correction

I would not mind an atomic with U.S. reception that has the look of the chronomaster with day/date. My g-shock giez gets an update everyday and I keep it in my closet. The problem is the Attessa models that have reception in the U.S. are too big for me and do not look as simple as the chronomaster. The exceed I liked, but no reception in the U.S.

This new seiko switches time zones automatically, but I don't think it is high accuracy without satellite signal: SEIKO ASTRON - ????????????
