    Tissot PRC200 Autoquartz accuracy

I have owned one of these watches for the last month, and it is still bang on time, to the second.. is this sort of accuracy the norm on these watches, or have I just struck lucky.. Tissot only claim +-10 seconds a month on this watch, so thinking I am just lucky.. Any other experiences of this watch, or an ETA Autoquartz in general?

I think that you are fortunate. Are you wearing it 24/7?

The Autoquartz is a normal quartz watch which will have a 'sweet spot' of zero error at a specific temperature. However, like the Thermoline TC watches, the sweet spot can be adjusted in the field. However, this adjustment requires special equipment to rewrite the watches' ROM. Even shops that have the equipment seem not to know how to do this.

Not with a Tissot, but in other brand. You're lucky... Mine behaves within the specs, but not better.

Autoquartz were found in a number of brand watches. I have a very large collection of them. In general the more expensive encasements are better regulated than the lower priced encasements. For example, the Hermes Nomad Chronograph sitting in front of me right now is spot on. The PRC-100 Tissots are not usually as accurate and they were the cheapest encasements. But they vary. The Mido Multifort (a military dialed watch) I have been wearing for the past few weeks is also spot on and it sold for about 1/5th the price of the Hermes.

It will be interesting to see if it keeps up the accuracy over the coming months and years.

That will depend on the temperature of its environment. The stickies will say why

This is the High Accuracy Quartz watches forum. Don't believe that the ETA Autoquartz is considered as one. Or is is it alright to post here if your average quartz just happens to be running spot on? No offense in anyway, just asking

I can imagine one's pleasure with a watch that is spot on.
Did I just happen to buy the one from that massive production line where everything is super-duper?
The one in a million that defies all known crystal science?

Unfortunately not. But you can be forgiven for thinking something along those lines.
