    Another big one

Just arrived. Yes, I know that it is not really Russian, but I like it nd the price was right - actually cheaper than my Moscow Classic!

Comparison with Moscow Classic. CCCP 1980 48mm, Moscow Classic 46mm. Check out the large (25mm) Handstitched Genuine Leather Band!

Movement is a Delta, Japan I believe. Don't understand the color though!

Interesting watches, Art! Leather strap is lovely and the colour suits the watch, dial, numbers.

This crown is unusual, what that part serves for?

Glad you asked. The canteen cover is similar to the Gruen Soviet watch. SEE PHOTO When unscrewed it reveals the smallest crown that I have ever seen on any men's watch. Difficult to wind, pull out and set time. Of course if you always wear it the automatic movement should keep it going!

That's funny because the cover implies the crown is 20mm around.

Is 'Deita' the maker of the watch? The movement looks like Seiko.

NO, Delta is the name of the movement. The brand is CCCP 1980. Check out this Thread: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f10/cc...on-884333.html

Well I hate to be pedantic, but the inscription on the back says "DEITA" not "DELTA", and the nearest match that I could find on cccptime.com lists a "Japan automatic", and the only Japanese automatic movement that looks like that is made by Seiko. It should be marked NH35A on one side of the rotor and SII on the other.
