    The strap is installed in reverse...that's weird.

    However it can be from any maker from this picture.

    mmmm that sounds fishy... you could have a new one very easily... that kind of strap is available everywhere and that Amphibia configuration could be done... maybe the hands not...

    True, but that's not the point. The point is that's one of THE Amphibias worn in the movie. It's like saying why bother getting Gagarin's Sturmanskie that's been in space when you can just grab one off ebay for next to nothing. It's all about the watch's history and not the watch. It's that history that gives it soul.

    I understand... maybe my comment was from the standpoint of questioning the legitimacy of that watch as "the actual movie watch worn by..." who certifies that? is there a proof that watch is "the watch"??

    I remember a guy on ebay selling a $20 komandirkie in like $3K as the "real russian watch of Fidel Castro" and countless "real gagarin watch" too.

    I am actually not surprised that a watch from the movie would have suffered water damage (if it is an actual watch from the movie..) Watches would be constantly adjusted for continuity ie different times of the day. Actors dont give a hoot about the watch it is a prop just like anything else, it just takes one person in props who probably knows nothing about watches to not screw down the crown and you have got water damage. Cant imagine the director says " Now boys are your crowns screwed down for the water shot?"

    Okay,got you. I talked with my brother about them some time ago when some Evil Dead stuff popped up and he vouched for them. While they do make the rare mistake, it has something to do with how they acquire the props and from whom. Also something about talking with prop departments for verification if required. Now they do have a replica section but both watches are not listed in that section. All I can say is I was told they are well respected by the TV/movie industry as a whole by those in the TV/movie industry.

    <sarcasm follows>
    eBay? You didn't get the memo that everything on eBay is 100% eBay certified as rare, vintage, antique, original, mint condition stuff unless stated otherwise? Sheese!
