Funny discovery - COMIX clock radio !

I frequently use old gizmos as backgrounds for my photo sessions. They mostly come from my childhood's possessions… an old radio, a transceiver, a calculator, a keyboard… whatever goes…

The last one I brought back after the last visit to my parents was this old clock radio :

My grandfather brought it back to me after a trip in Russia (~25 years ago)… tonight, I decided to use it for a photo session :

    Let's get closer :

    Blued hands o_O and… CCCP !

I began to play mechanically with the crown… to realize the watch was hand wound !

I had completely forgotten this characteristic ! Of course, the radio itself uses a (9V) battery, but it's so nice to see the clock getting back to life !

Do any of you guys knows this old brand ?

    Reno,

I have never seen one like that but it certainly looks great!

The chrome bezel around the clock dial looks interesting, along with the red pointer on the crystal. I wonder if it works as an alarm clock: set the red pointer to a certain time and when the clock reaches that, it turns the radio on?

    It's fine! A great discover
Russian watches were designed to be maintained in the field by an agricultural worker using nothing but a hammer, a sickle, and some tractor grease... (phd)

    That's exactly how it works

The red dot is simply set by turning the bezel. The radio can be set on medium or long wave frequencies.

    Reno,

Great looking retro radio. Very clean design. As soon as I saw your photos, your radio reminded me of the Ruhla Sumatic travel alarm. It too is wound and you set the alarm using the bezel/crystal. The buzzer is battery operated. The clock is tiny 5 X 3.7 X 1.8 cms and comes in a little travel pouch.

That clock was the topic of a recent post. Somebody had just the clock and was wondering where it came from.

    Excellent a mini-radio ; I'd love to see it !
    The COMIX, is a giant in comparison ! (15,7 x 8 x 3,9 cm)

Interesting… Do you have a link to this thread ?
I did a quick search using "comix/clock/alarm" but couldn't find anything

Here's the thread. It's not exactly the same clock, but it's close.

If only I could find a willing repairer, I'd surely be able to get one good Sumatic from the remains of three dead ones

At least I've got a Raketa mini-alarm that works.
