Help- how to disassemble Zarja shockproof?

Hello, I'm new to this forum, but hope you could help me. I bought this elegant Zarja watch in flea market. It's not working therefore I would like just see it's movement to understand is it big problem or just need to unwind spring (sometimes it's helps ). And here rises challenge- I have no idea how to get to movement by not damaging watch. Could you please advise me?

This is just a dust cover. It should just fall out but probably stuck because of the accumulated dirt. Just carefully pry it out with a needle.

Btw, as far as I can tell, this is a Raketa body. Hence the spacer to fit Zaria into it. I may be wrong. Maybe something like that was actually produced. Did not look at Zarias that much

    Thanks a lot Odessa200!
    Yes the dirt was guilty.
Just opened it and unfortunately problem is big- watch balance wheel broken.
About authenticity- I saw couple of them in web and in that flea market sellers too lazy to make frankenwatch :DName: Zarja4.jpg

Great. Yea, as I said, never looked closely at these. Get a donor and replace the balance!

Re: Help- how to disassemble Zarja shockproof?

That Zarja looks authentic to me and that is an antimagnetic shield.

To finish removing the movement you would need to remove the crown, remove two screws holding movement in case, remove crystal I assume in bezel, and allow movement/dial to come out the front.

Then remove hands, undo small screws in side of movement holding dial feet, and remove dial. Be careful not to misplace either the cannon gear in the keyless works after removing crown shaft or the hour gear and washer after removing the dial.

You can try replacing the balance with virtually no disassembly leaving movement in the watch and if you are very lucky that might work and you won't have to do a service on the rest of the watch. You can test this by removing the balance and winding the watch up several turns using a screwdriver to turn the large mainspring gear. With a sharp toothpick or some other small pointy item nudge the pallet fork away from the stop upon which it is resting. It should snap over to the opposite stop. And then back again with a nudge from the other direction. If you can get it to snap back and forth reliably it should be able to drive a proper balance back and forth. If it fails this test that means you have problems somewhere in the train leading to the pallet fork or the fork and/or fork bearings and a service is necessary.

Thank you schnurrp for detailed instruction!
I guess I just need to upgrade my skills to do that by myself not by watchmaker.

These movements were really quite common 30-40 years ago (in Canada anyway) where there seemed to be tons of them sold under the brand name Cardinal. I probably have 5-6 of them.

In my experience, disassembly is easy - reassembly is the hard part. This applies to many things - including motorcycles, or so I have been told
