Congratulations - you've picked up a Vostok Komandirskie Sub Commander. It's hard to tell in the first photo but looks like it's the round-case soviet era model and they are more desirable than the post-soviet watches. They were originally designed for the government/military and are legendary for their ruggedness.

It would have been an automatic and it looks as if the rotor is missing. Vostok still make these watches and you'll find new ones on ebay for £40-50, so a repair isn't going to be economical unless you can find a period movement and fit it yourself.

Having said that, if you really like the watch (and they are very cool) it wouldn't cost a fortune to fix and would be a great collector's piece.

    Still a bargain at 10p!

    Enjoy.

Actually it is a hand-wind model as suggested by the flat caseback.

The barrel seems to be missing but it would be very easy to obtain a parts movement to source the missing part. Posting a message at the "parts wanted" thread should be helpful, and I feel sure that some members would have the correct parts available.

Agree with Seele, it looks like a 2414 movement with the missing mainspring barrel
