    Newby here

Hi, newby to the forum - name's Gerry from Suffolk, UK.
Got (in total) 3 Russian watches, an old Paratrooper (90s), new 24 hour, and an old (80s/90s) manual Sekonda (which I'm informed that they originally were made) both the Paratrooper and Sekonda need work and are U/S until they can be fixed.
    Basically me.
    Having an interesting read.

Thanks for the welcomes, my 'other' watches are pocket watches, only one of which is manual though and I much prefer manual/automatics to quartz.

Welcome Gerry, before I retired to the tropics fifteen years ago I lived in Suffolk Coastal. I miss the tranquility and the scenery but not the winter weather - too cold for old bones.

A picture of my NOS Sekonda which is really a Luch from Minsk; the movement has the Luch Beam marking. Many Soviet watchmakers supplied Sekonda and all their watches were from the Soviet Union before the break up when they turned to quartz.

Thinking about it, anybody able to suggest the manufacturer that made it, or suggest where to look for makers marks?
