    Privet esteemed Tovarishi,

I have a thing about Pobeda watches & I especially like this « Star » design.

I dont really know anything about them . Is there any significance about the design ?
1945 celebration ? Red Army connection ? Or simply a cool slightly pariotic design ?

So far, I found 4 different design variations :

What, I guess, is the most common Mdl made by Zim in both black or white dials .

This white made by BM3 following the previous design but with a « Made in CCCP » marking,

And finally, my fav, a black dial variante with full arabic numbers indices & a curved « Pobeda » writing.
The movement was made Q 2-53, by 1st Moscow Watch Factory.

Are there further known variations ? Any in your collections maybe ?

Fantastic watches! I am yet to score one of these. What I see is either in bad state or too pricy... 😞

On the start questions: back in USSR we had starts everywhere. The main start would be on top of the Kremlin. Then on the flags. Then obviously all the military uniforms would have starts. Young pioneers in schools would have a star pin. Etc. etc. I would say this start on the watch is an aggression of all these: star is just a main symbol of ussr. This makes this design a very soviet 🙂.

Thanks VM Odessa, so in your opinion, it is more a general release with a cool slightly patriotic design ?
I had the same experience as you, and the dials seems indeed to attract a premium px.
I am very grateful to member Miroman who helped me to secure 3 of them !

These are made less than 10 years after the end of the war. Pretty much all health men served in the army. Current or former solders. Military/patriotic theme was very strong. I guess this watch reflects that.

    Very nice pieces !
Looks like there used to be lume on the dial of the last one.
Therefore the hands wouldn't be correct ?!

Absolutly Haha !! The dial is kinda reminiscent of the WW2 Military Mdl epitomised by the «.Dirty Dozen), and luminous indices would call for luminous hands as well.

I have never seen this Pobeda Variation before, so I dont know if the hands are stock but were originally covered with lume which was removed when the indices were, or if original hands with lume sandwiched were swapped for those plain pobeda type ?
Any info would be welkom .

Thanks Tovarishi for your kind words . I really wished some Cie were to made a modern re-edition of those with higher specs for EDC, the same way Time Factors re-issued the late 60’ Smiths W10 as the PRS-29.
