    Poljot Okean Verification

After reading as much as I could find on WUS and some recommended links, I'm searching for a vintage Poljot Okean online. I think I found one that seems to have correct parts, but I was hoping to get some feedback on the item. I would appreciate if someone could let me know what they think of it. The price is pretty high, so I don't know if I'd go for it, but I'm looking for for the authenticity verification than anything else.

The example you have found is constructed from original parts, unfortunately they are from different time periods. The movement is much earlier than the dial and hands combination.
Certainly still worth considering at the right price. Finding an all original Okeah is now a tall order.

    Cheers...

Thanks for the response! I figured about as much, but good to know it's not a complete forgery.

Would you be kind enough to explain a bit about the dial/hands: what makes them ‘newer’? As far as I can see the dial is original. Price is way too much though.

The dial is certainly original, I have not questioned that, it just dates later than the movement.

The dial and hands combination is from around 86' because of the darker blue band on the dial, red sweep hand and red sub dial minute counter hand, also a larger lume area on the hour hand.

To match the early 80's movement the dial would be a slightly lighter blue on the band area and have carrot orange sweep hand and sub dial hand. Lume area on the hour hand is also smaller.

    Cheers...

I see I found an expert! 🙂. Thanks for the explaining. I have noticed the lume color differences but I new what is from earlier models and what is from later.
