The crown could be geared to the inner 24-hour ring so that you can track a third timezone, like with traditional rotating bezel on GMT watch.

    Exactly.
The inner bezel can be adjusted as a second time zone.
    Moscow time zone +3
    Singapore time zone +8
    5 hours difference.
Sitting in Moscow and rotate inner bezel from 24 to 5, and see the main hands are showing the Moscow time (22:32), and the GMT hand is showing the Singapore time (3:32).

Just as on the Poljot 3133 version - rotate inner bezel.

Yes I would have said bezel turning.

One of my more surprising yet insanely cheap watches is a £16 Jaragar NaviTimer which has a fully functional rotary slide rule just like the Breitling it is "homaging" to and even three working sub dials but sadly only day, date and 24hr and not the super precise chronograph the Breitling has and surprised me too when I discovered it had a sapphire type crystal rather than some manky mineral stuff. You twirl the second crown and it moves the figures and you read it off like components of a sum.

I found the Seiko rotary slide rule handbook helped me work out how it all actually worked and I do on occasion when wearing to make me look an egghead, decide to work something out on the rotary slide rule.

My Sekonda black and rose gold "World Time" has a very smart GMT+ function that you twirl the dial round to set the principle city on the inner bezel. I am very fond of that one as it has a cracking good chronograph on it as well.
Rather sad, slightly mad 3 wheel van toting cat doting ol' timer...

This looks like a GMT watch, which has separate GMT hand (one with broad arrow at the end pointing at 26 minutes) to show 2nd time zone time. That hand is synchronized with main hand.

Second crown is to rotate 24 hour bezel which can be used to set and track 2nd time zone with that GMT hand.
