Re: Those spectacular pictures we took of our Russian watches

Not particularly amazing pictures, but an interesting story. Dixit suggested I post here.

I bought a Vostok for a friend. He liked it and wore it a lot. He has beef and dairy cattle. His neighbor has puny little show cattle.

One day, the neighbor's puny show bull (~400 lbs) got into my friend's pasture. He didn't want it breeding one of his cows, so he and his son got some ropes on it.

Apparently, bulls lead better sideways because their brakes only work in reverse, and their accelerators only work to the front. Leading them sideways is much easier. Well, puny show bull got excited, turned and bolted. My friend's rope wrapped around his Vostok and ripped out a spring bar. He found the watch, but was missing one end link, and the other end of the bracelet had become a bit... uncoiled.

I got a new bracelet (h/t @VadimMkin ), polished the crystal and installed the new bracelet. All is again good.

Uh... Mario , how can you stand to live in that place. I would much prefer a dingo rather than that.
