There is no historical excess of Raketa amphibias to fuel cheap watches or to fuel any watches for that matter. Vostok was popular and present in numbers in 80s and 90s.
It was de facto only soviet diving/WR capable watch. So it is well known and present in huge numbers.
During Soviet days there was "plan" on how many and which model should be produced. After collapse it started to shift production to the most sought Vostok model... you guess what it was?
Raketa was present in different models mostly simple 3 handers, perpetual calendar and 24hr (in order of popularity with 24 hr been least seen in the wild). I had last two and they been very good. 24 hr was the most accurate soviet watch out the box i saw.
By the end of 80s they came out with some modern designs which been cool for a time and made them stand out as modern manufacturer.
Very solid and good watches they been.
