    Vintage rectangular watches

I'm looking for something vintage and rectangular - so far I like the Zvezda "Tank" - I see that the oval version is readily available but there aren't so many of the rectangle... Is there anything I should be wary of with these watches? Please share pics :)

Also I'd be interested to hear recommendations for alternatives... I've seen the Slava "Fridge" but I prefer the look of the Zvezda.

Go on ebay and search for ‘ussr watch square’. You will see plenty of watches.

As far as ‘what to worry about’: if you are buying a really old watch like Zvezda, make sure it is recently serviced so it will run accurately for you.

General advice: look at the seller ratings. There is a lot of franken watches out there for sale that may or may not work well. So finding a trustworthy seller is key.

    Good luck!

Will do Odessa - although for some reason I prefer rectangle over square...

You will see the search returns both. Better search for both. You never know how people will list them. 🙂

Only "vertical" rectangular? You can also have a look at the Slava tank:

As it happens frenchtreasure there is one on its way to me now... the blue version of the one in your pic - and in similar good condition. I'm very much looking forward to wearing it. However, in this case I'm looking for something much more understated.

    Try this link: https://photos.app......../6fuyvsHcsUCJapJX8

It was made by First State Watch Factory at Penza, same as some Zvezdas.
