    Beginner camera suggestions?

Hey all, I am really starting to enjoy looking at pictures of watches and other things and the way they turn out and have started to think about trying it out myself. I would like to try and find a high quality camera for a low, affordable price. Basically a good camera for the price you can get it at. If anyone has any suggestions they would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Obviously. Your question has been asked a thousand times.
I use (due to pure chance discovery) cheap point and shoot cameras for close ups. It's the small sensors that seem to be the ticket for watches etc.
100% of newbies ignore this advise and run to spend $1000 or more- fearing they will not get the shots. WRONG.
In truth, my cameras are a PAIN to use. But. I'm used to pain.
Here's what I have used and how I like them.
My housemate's iPhone - fantastic for most people and excellent rough shoot prep for my finals.
My Nikon Coolpix 8800 and before that, Coolpix 5000 - These are my workhorse close-up cameras, but they are a pain to learn and use.
Any Micro4/3 sensor camera. Sony, Olympus and Panasonic - more versatile for general photography and excellent for closeups but a more pricey system.
RARELY do I use a FF DSLR because DOF is very shallow and I do not always want to have to stop down more than 3 stops.
    I hope this helps.

    And your budget is ???

Here's a good camera review site: Digital Camera Reviews, Canon Cameras, Nikon Cameras, DSLR and SLR Cameras - Steves Digicams

or Camera Reviews: Over 500 digital camera reviews - Imaging Resource

Both sites cover cheap to expensive with in-depth reviews.

Don't laugh but this is what I bought when I 'retired' from photography and it ended up sending me back in in a big way.
I can't wait to hear what you end up buying and WHY :)

I can't laugh because I was actually looking at that one lol. I went and found it on Amazon for only $29! It seems like a really good and affordable beginner camera. It is most likely what I will be choosing. Thanks for the help!
