Eight Minutes Past Ten, 37 Seconds

    Hi All,

Not sure if this was been discussed here before but to the observant eye, all watch hands in watch photos point to eight minutes past ten, 37 seconds.
I actually came across / stumbled on this observation by chance.
One day I was taking photos of my Omega PO, and in one photo the time was ten minutes to two, and in another photo it was half past one.
Naturally, when I was reviewing these photos in post processing, my eye was naturally drawn to the ten minutes to two photo, because of the natural 'v' formation.
Ever since then, when I looked at all the omega brochures the time on the hands were 10:08 (the same v formation).

I agree with you. I think it's purely esthetics as the hands block elements of the dial the least in that position in addition to making it look more symmetrical.

Watch photography is fascinating! I was looking for some info about it in preparation to sell some pieces and uncovered a whole new world. YouTube has great vids.

    Cheers!

10 and 2 seem to be the common position for alot of staged watch pictures.
