    Finally got a Macro Lens!!!

    Hello to everyone!

First my name is Dan. I've been a loooooong time lurker on this site, and have recently started joining in on some of the conversations. It's really amazing to see everyone's fantastic collections & even better pictures. When I was in my teens I was into photography & my parents even bought me a basic Point & Shoot which I absolutely loved! I've always wanted to get back into photography but honestly haven't had the time. Fast forward to this past Christmas my wife surprised me with a Nikon D3300 bundle. It came with the camera body, case, 2 Lens (one 18-55mm & 55-200mm) and a few other accessories. I started taking pics right away. Most of which were pretty crummy. A couple of days ago I purchased a Nikon Macro Lens from my local Best Buy and I must say ITS A WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE!!!! I haven't taken a ton of pics with it yet, but the initial results were pretty amazing to me. Here is my favorite shot so far..

Here are another couple of shots

this last one was taken with my 18-55MM Lens

I will upload a few more pics and please feel free to comment.

here are a few shots. They aren't the greatest but I'm still learning & playing around with settings. These are all taken in Manual mode.

These two are shots of an old Armitron Skeleton that my father gave me as a gift when I was about 19.

This next two are pics of an Android Master Calendar with Moonphase

Last one is my favorite of the bunch. Its of a Caravelle from 1972. I've always loved the numerals & dial on this piece.

I really love taking pics of watches. Its great to be able to combine two passions & learn so much about them at the same time. I will keep posting pics and any feedback is welcome. None of these pics are edited at at all. Straight from the camera to here.

great photos and great camera, impressive quality for an entry level system. I bought one as a back up and pretty much use it more than my main body.

Nice shots. Play around with the angles and lighting a bit and you're good to go.

Nice images. Yes a macro lens can add lots of fun to photography. I used to have the Nikon 60mm 2.8D micro. I sold it and use extension tubes and close up lenses with regular lenses for macro work now. The 40mm is a nice lens-wouldn't mind owning one.

I just got my first macro lens too. Just shot my first batch of pics but haven't processed any yet. Mine is a cheap Cannon FD 50mm. 3.5 and a adapter for micro 4/3s. Been a little challenging to get used to manual focus a and ring aperture. Will see how photos found out.

It's a (micro) world of difference when you get into macro work. Problem is getting the watch clean enough to take a picture of in the first place LOL
