How To Take High Quality Pics Of Your Watch

I've been experimenting with trying to take some detailed close up shots of my watches lately, but without much luck. Maybe I just haven't found the right setting on my Sony Cybershot (I thought the "flower" was for close ups). Going through the WRUW threads or sales corner, there are tons of great pics, and I'm curious how it's done, whenever I go in close it turns out blurry. I do not have access to an SLR camera, so my 10 MP Sony is pretty much the only choice. So, how do you guys get those awesome shots?

    You need lots of light.

If you get reflections try grabbing a sheet of paper and holding it in one hand above the camera in order to block out reflections of object in your surroundings. And yes, the flower symbolizes macro/close focus shooting.

Re: How To Take High Quality Pics Of Your Watch

There is a great thread that I will try to find for you with tons of ideas/tips, etc.

I struggle with it too. Mostly, because I don't take the time to really do a nice job setting up my watches for good photos, and taking the time to take nice shots. Everything I take is rushed. Hopefully, I will have some time this summer to spend a few hours photographing my nicer watches. Looking forward to hearing everyone's suggestions.

Good links; particularly the second one which requires very little money to setup.

    Thanks!

im not photographer but i do have a sony dsc-h20 (10mp point and shoot camera). i recently messed around with some of the shooting settings (i.e. increasing contrast and sharpness, photo size, etc) and they've come out much different. also, having the camera on a steady surface helps a lot too- apparently i cant take a wrist photo one handed, they always come out blurry
