Nice photos. What do you think about the P300?
After I got this P300, I saw some pix from a local forum from Olympus XZ1 and they look great. Pix not mine, and I'm not sure they had done any correction to them:
I then tried the Olympus XZ1 in a shop and found the body design to be old SLR alike and love it.
I also tried the Canon S95 found the hand feel of its case better cause it is made of metal similar to those used in lens.
This P300 is handy, but might be too small for big hands, bearing the risk to drop it anytime.
I wish Nikon could have used the bigger CCD say 1/1.7...quality-wise, still need sometime to find out.
I think the Olympus XZ1 is the leader of the compact cameras right now. S95 is very good camera too. P300 seems to be cheaper than its rivals so it is interesting to see how it compares to them quality-wise. I have big hands so I would like to have good grip on camera but on the other hand, it would be good to have so little camera that it is easy to take it with me anywhere I go. Luckily there is many good alternatives to choose from.
Awesome - congrats on the new camera, and thanks for posting the pics. I just picked up this model as well.
In the "compact camera with manual control and low aperture" category, the P300 probably has the best value, priced way under any competitor - S95, LX5, XZ1, etc. It does have a few drawbacks - like smaller sensor, no RAW mode - but more than makes up for it in other departments like the f/1.8, or the 1080 HD video (which are more useful, for a P+S anyway).
a little bit over done...
What does the HDR do for the pictures?
