My first attempt at building a lightbox

While I am waiting for my new Nikon D7000 to show up this week, I built a lightbox from some directions I found on a DIY forum. Total cost was about $32 (vs $100 or more I see to buy them). Could have been under $30 easily as I bought WAY too much Muslin cloth.

I switched the light I had for a daylight bulb, which helped a lot, older bulb gave everythign a sickly yellowish tint.

Looking forward to learning from you guys when my new SLR shows up (I have a Nikon 105mm micro Nikkor for a macro already).

I think you've got a good start! Yes, the daylight bulbs do help - but when you D7000 shows up shoot in RAW format so you have maximum leeway in adjusting exposure/ levels/ white balance. Let's see some photos when you're up and running!

dealextreme rocks! Free shipping, as long as you don't need stuff right away. I've purchase LED flashlights that don't show up for a month or so - but they always show up.

I think the ProPhotoLife videos are a great tool that will give you some more ideas as well. This is one of my favorites for shadowless, pure white background images:

I built one out of some foam core and tissue paper. It worked pretty good, but it was a bit cumbersome, and not tremendously sturdy. I bought a tent from Square Perfect, and I paid about $45.00 for it (prices have gone up a bit since then)...
