My first try at "Watch Photography"

This is my first effort at taking some artistic photos of a few watches I own. I've seen a lot of great pictures on here and just thought I'd give it a try. So any photogs out there give me some feedback, good or bad.

    Thanks.
    Marc

Very nice DOF, but don't be afraid to get closer!

For me, every day is a new thing. I approach each project with a new insecurity, almost like the first project I ever did, and I get the sweats. I go in and start working. I'm not sure where I'm going - if I knew where I was going, I wouldn't do it. Frank Gehry

I dont really have much to add. You seem to have the fundamentals down, so just practicing will work out the small differences that will have a big impact.

You have very good sense of composition.
    This is my positive.
Mostly on all pics the watches lack of sharpness.
    This my neg.

But definetly you should keep on.
    Cheers

I wasn't really sure how to set up the camera. I've got an average digital that I use on vacations. The camera I used is a Nikon D90 and I didn't really have any earthly idea how to use it as a novice. I will say however it was a LOT of fun and I've already started looking for a D90 of my own

Right. Once you tried SLR you will allways end up with buying one. Good luck.
