    My Journey to Northern Australia

Thought I would share some shots of my trip to Central and Northern Australia during the last few weeks. Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful shots! I would definitely love to travel to Australia one day, looks like an amazing place.

I have friends who live in Sydney, and others in Canberra. Maybe I can convince the wife to take the long flight and go for a visit.

Out of curiosity, do most Australians refer to it as 'Ayers Rock', or 'Uluru'?

Its a bit of both actually, i think that people over 30 have grown up calling it Ayers Rock and i call it both names. The rock and its management was handed back to the aboriginal people about 25 years ago and since then "Uluru" has become the preferred name.

I took all of these pictures with a Panasonic Lumix FZ-28, which given the right light conditions takes a great picture. There was a fair bit of walking so to have a camera with such a zoom (18x) in the backpack was great without the need to constantly change lenses.
Having said that, I will look to pick a up a an SLR in the near future. Thanks for the compliments.

What a beautiful country. I still recall one of the first multimedia projects called "From Alice to Ocean" that starred 'Ayers Rock' and a camel and a sunset - all of which are part of your photo set.
