    New Acquisition: GigaPan tripod head...

    Hi -

Don't have it yet, but it's on its way: a GigaPan robotic tripod head. I'm in on the beta program, and it's been shipped...

Look here for what it can do: http://gigapan.org/

and this is what I will be getting: http://gigapansystems.com/index.php?...ideo-tutorials

While I may not be able to use my E510 - this has yet to be seen - it's gonna be a load of fun. I've been trying my hand with panoramas, but it's been more hit and miss when trying to match up multiple shots by hand later on, and this system promises some decent results...

Not much use for watches, but heck, this is, basically, a way of converting your bog-standard point and shoot into a digital view camera...which is really what I've always wanted.

Wasn't cheap, but nothing dealing with robotics is...
