    New Lens

Well, been thinking about it for a while - today, bit the bullet. A choice between a new Darth Sumo Emperor or the lens, the lens won.

    Nikon 24-70 f2.8

cost me a fortune, but I think I'll recover

I tend to do portraits and street photography and after much review reading, decided it was the one for me

very very fast focus, crisp images,

a real pro lens, but in a real amateur's hands

    cheers

Awesome chunk of glass - your watch pics will thank you for it!

    Re: New Lens

Congratulations - looking forward to seeing some images and hearing your opinions!

I, too, am a (Nikon) novice with a penchant for buying above my current capabilities; but I look at lenses with the objective of only buying them once and with an eye to the future. Your opinions and experiences with this one are eagerly anticipated.

    Best regards,
    Wallace
For me, every day is a new thing. I approach each project with a new insecurity, almost like the first project I ever did, and I get the sweats. I go in and start working. I'm not sure where I'm going - if I knew where I was going, I wouldn't do it. Frank Gehry
