    putting up the nikon

after working with the d40x and buying lenses, plus spending time setting up the camera, I have decided to shelve it. I bought a point and shoot sony that does hdmi at 1080p, no composing or wondering if everything is in focus.
    heres some quick results.

    What model Sony?
I've started looking into buying a new camera, but I'm no camera bug.
I just want something that takes good, clear pictures without a lot of fuss.

Nice choice ... DSLR's arent for everyone . I have a Nikon D200 with a few higher end lenses but I shoot alot of motor sports and Ice Hockey etc . so I need something bigger than a point & shoot as a primary . BUT I always carry a P&S with me just incase of something . better ot have and not need I say

Nice camera and great shots. That Sony retails in rip off Britain (Amazon)for £224 with a 2Gb card. I dare say they are more reasonable in your part of the world.

I like to take pics at sports events also. With a tripod the nikon does a great job, but I still have to give sony an edge with the huge optical zoom and stop action. heres a huge pic of bikes on one of my favorite roads.

there is some grain in the pic, but most of them turned out better. the nikon did a great job when I went to a wedding. I took both cameras.

DSLRs are not for every one, To get "every shot" you need more lenses, lighting etc etc. ,but over all you get a better shot.

Hope you like your new camera.

    Digital is fabulous!

I have a Canon S3 IS. I know that this shot of the full moon isn't all that great, but I had the camera set on full zoom + full digital zoom - a 35mm equivalent of a 1,728mm lens... Also, this shot was hand-held at 1/80 sec.
