    Very nice Dude!

I'm not as good at photographing people surreptitiously, but I did take the new S9000 out for a walk on a recent trip to NYC/Brooklyn

Only one food-related photo, and not nearly as many good looking women!

Thanks guys! I plan on taking the camera down to Austin this week to do some exploring. Should have some great material to post after that B-)

    Hey TheDude,

I'm curious. What technique do you use to photograph people on the streets. I've seen examples of street photography where the people either don't notice they're being photographed or are looking elswhere.

I'm not saying that you should get only candid shots, but it's unusual for me to see examples of street photography where the pedestrians are actually participating and visibly smiling/waving/looking at you.

Do you smile at them and motion with your camera? Do you ask them if you can get a picture?

I'm asking because I love how many of your pics involve quite a great deal of audience participation :)

Easy... I use the point and shoot technique, I am usuaaly very very close to my subjects - I don't use a telephoto lens but an 18-70mm lens people see me and by the time I press the shutter some are looking at me, some are smiling... I like those pics as much as the candid shots.
