[Identify] 4 neat watches (Rolex, Omega, Hamilton, Elgin)

    Hi all,

A long time friend of mine learned that I am a watch guy and brought over 4 watches that belonged to his father. These have not been worn in some time and been kept in storage.

What we know (or think we know):
-All authentic and original, no replacement parts. Although the Rolex to me looks a bit wonky?
-No refinishing on any of them
-The Omega and Rolex are functioning - did not try the other two

What we would like to know:
-Any information/knowledge you have. The year they were manufactured?
    -Potential value

I understand the black dial Omega's, unfinished, are quite desirable.

Thanks everyone, now on to the pictures!

I can't say with the PW but they look nice and I would guess the "traffic" model might be of a higher caliber then regular models. The Rolex and Omega both have their original dials which is a good thing and the Rolex looks to be a 50s two-tone and while not the highest on the rolex desirability scale is still a very fine watch that has decent value. The Omega SM, as you suspect-with original black dial and gold font is very sought after and your friends fathers example looks to be near mint. With its (probably) original bracelet it has everything an Omega collector would expect if they were paying top dollar for a nice 50s/60s SM

*on second glance I am going to say I am 95% sure the Omega is original dial. Its probably just the lens/crystal blur but the 'OMEGA' looks a tiny bit wonky and the 'S' in seamster is one of the less usual "s's' but I still think it is probably ok. someone else will weigh in soon enough. As for value-just type in "black dial Omega SM 50s/60s" and you'll see what sellers are asking and what some are getting. Same for the Rolex 'precision'[?] (I'm not certain on the name of this model. Its a non-date oyster like an Air-king, Precision or Datejust and has the chronometer rating. Its the most worn of the 4 but rolex retain value even when scuffed up.

Nice watches, I'd love to say the Seamaster is 100% original but Omega looks wonky to me and the Automatic doesn't seem centred underneath it but it could all be an optical illusion, any chance of another picture, head on with the hands out of the way? If it is a genuine black dial then it's a great find in that condition and definitely worth saving.

Thanks all, really appreciate the feedback. If I get the chance i'll snap a few more shots of the Omega.

The rolex dial looks fake to me; the way the line runs under the "crown" logo, and is off-center at the 6:00 mark are red flags. Likewise with the Omega; there are a few inconsistancies that stand out (the S of Seamaster in particular) that would make me nervous if I was dropping a ton of money on one. The Hamilton is a Swiss, which is far less desirable then their American made movements.

    Nice pieces
Both the Rolex and the Omega raise suspicion with me.
I would want to see movement photos and inside case.
